Consider this Part II of our calls-to-action for the month of March. The Right Brain Initiative has been selected as a beneficiary for the proceeds of Holocene’s latest event from the series A Few of My Favorite Things, this time curated by Mayor Sam Adams. The program takes place this Wednesday, March 31 and we’d like you to be there!
Not only are we terribly honored to receive a nod from the Mayor, we are also excited to be a part of a rare mixed-medium evening, a brilliant intermingling of local right brain matter of all types. You can see the list of featured musicians on the poster above, rounded out by visual art compiled by Chris Haberman of Portland City Art . I’m also personally excited about the premiere of WKE (Wieden+Kennedy Entertaiment)’s latest episode of Don’t Move Here, a supremely well crafted series examining Portland’s music scene. And, we’ll share the proceeds for the evening with the Creative Advocacy Network (CAN), who is working on all our behalf to establish a dedicated public fund for the arts in the Portland area. Not to mention, all this takes place at Holocene, inarguably one of the most interesting venues in the city.
We are in such good company here.
We’ll offer a representative from Right Brain (pardon us, we’re still arm wrestling to determine who) to make a brief presentation about what we do, and share our beloved manifesto video. We’ll also have button making, new collateral and our entire staff will be on hand to interact.
There could not be an easier or more pleasant way to show your support for arts education. Please join us and please spread the word! More attendees spells more and better arts programming for Portland area K-8 students.
