Give a kid a book with Right Brain and Wordstock

December 22nd, 2010 by Right Brain Team

If anything is cut-and-dry in this world, it’s that a book in the hands of a kid is a good thing.

In case you missed any of our other tweets, status updates, or newsletter announcements about the gloriousness of the Willamette Week Give!Guide, I wanted to be sure that you not miss the very important fact that Wordstock is generously providing Powell’s gift certificates to Right Brain schools to match all that is donated to them through the Give!Guide.

Wordstock is not only an fantastic literary and book  festival, but an organization devoted to the education of young people, educators, and adults through other year-round programs. They provide a fine set of literary artists to Right Brain’s roster, andthis is partnership at its best –Wordstock will match, dollar-for-dollar, your Give! Guide donation to them with the gift of new books to public schools participating in The Right Brain Initiative.

Here’s the easy part: 1) Go ahead and take out your plastic, and click over to 2) Designate an amount of your choosing to The Right Brain Initiative, and then drop some money over in the Wordstock box as well. Voila!

You have nine days left to experience the pleasure that comes with making smart donations to non-profits through Willamette Week’s Give!Guide, and imagining children in schools all over the Portland area getting their latest inspirations from books in the new year.
