One of The Right Brain Initiative’s fundamental values is educational equity, which is why we have grand visions of someday serving all 240 public K-8 schools in the Portland metropolitan area. In light of  this, we’re excited to announce today that we’ve taken on two new North Clackamas schools in 2010-11, bringing our total number of school partners to 25 throughout four districts:  Gresham-Barlow, Hillsboro, North Clackamas and Portland.

Welcome, Linwood Elementary (Milwaukie) and Scouters Mountain Elementary (Happy Valley) to our family of partners!

These schools will begin our new entry year of participation, in which we engage their staff in our exanding professional development program, at no cost to the district.

In the press release, Tim Mills, Superintendent in North Clackamas said: “The Right Brain Initiative has brought our students engaging learning experiences that boost creativity, teamwork, and the quest for knowledge. I would love to see this program in all our K-8 schools.”

With this sign of growth, we’re pleased to be well on the way.

Read full details in the hot-off-the-press release.

In celebration, visit Show + Tell, our traveling exhibit, parked at the North Clackamas Schools’ administration building at 4444 SE Lake Road, Milwaukie on Thursday, October 7 from noon – 8pm.
