Thanks to everyone who came out to Holocene last week for A Few of My Favorite Things, a multimedia evening event curated by Portland’s arts-loving mayor. The event raised funds for both Right Brain and our good friends at the Creative Advocacy Network (CAN).
While the people in charge work to tally the total dollars raised, we’ve now got images back in the office and uploaded.
You will see below evidence of our button making station (we asked people to draw what their right brains look like), artwork brought by Chris Haberman, and a presentation made by Jessica Jarratt, executive director of CAN; as well as one by Marna Stalcup, Right Brain’s very own program manager.
3/31 also turned out to be the birthday of Polly Birge, the City’s Arts and Culture Coordinator, who put gobs of hours of work into making this event happen. Jennifer Yocum, the Arts and Culture Director at the Mayor’s office, came armed with cake and gifts and led a round of public singing (which turned out about as well as one could hope, thank you very much).
We had fun and felt really lucky to engage with such a devoted set of arts advocates. Thanks also to Sanna-Lisa Gesang-Gottowt for the photography.
