Kicking off 2017 with grateful hearts

At Right Brain, we are rolling into 2017 with grateful hearts and renewed spirits! This winter we were thrilled to have once again been selected to participate in the Willamette Week’s Give!Guide, an innovative online fundraising campaign for local non-profits. Throughout November and December of 2016, the Give!Guide raised $4,250,708 for 141 deserving non-profit organizations throughout the region.

This year, Right Brain is pleased to announce that we raised $19,121 through Give!Guide campaign from 270 donors, equipping us with the funds to support four schools and 1,500 students with arts education programming next school year. This total is up from the $18,440 that we raised last year and includes a $500 bonus that we earned for having the second most givers under the age of 36 in the education category (77 donors under the age of 36) thanks to the Schlesinger Family Foundation. In other great news, this year-end campaign also helped us complete our 2016-17 Maybelle Clark Macdonald Matching Fund campaign goal of raising $10,000 from new donors of $100 or more.

As many of you know, to make things interesting Right Brain offered up a fun Trailblazers incentive raffle for donors of $10 or more through the Guide. Each Give!Guide contributor who donated to Right Brain specifically earned one raffle ticket for every $10 they gave. We are thrilled to announce that the winner of our Portland Trail Blazers incentive package (which includes two Club-level seats to the Portland Trail Blazers vs. Golden State Warriors game on January 29th and a team-autographed basketball) is Alisa and Dana Pompetti!

Congratulations on your winnings and thank you for your incredible generosity this season and always. We’d also like to extend a special thanks to Dewayne Hankins and the Portland Trail Blazers for donating such an awesome prize package—go Blazers!

We are so thankful for all of our donors and advocates. Building Right Brain up to serve every child in the region takes the work of government, non-profits, school districts, businesses, foundations, and you. We here at Right Brain send a heartfelt thank you to all those who support us in any capacity—your investment in Right Brain will have a lasting impact on kids in our community for years to come.
