Ballet Blitz!

Ballet Blitz is a fast-paced, energetic way for students of all ages to watch, wonder and DANCE! Students will get a day-in-the-life of a professional dancer, watch excerpts from classical and contemporary ballets and try some moves themselves.

OBT is dedicated to sharing with students the experience of dancers from all races and backgrounds who have had significant influence on ballet. OBT recognizes ballet’s historically racial prejudice and female stereotypes. Our teaching artists are at work in undoing those stereotypes and helping all students see themselves as dancers.

In addition, students will see ballet costumes up close! They will get to see and learn about pointe shoes and all the work (and fabric) that goes into making a classical tutu.

This program is geared for all ages and is successful during school hours, as an after-school program or family Art Night.
