The Right Brain Initiative

“we’re striving to put the magic back into learning”

June 23rd, 2011 by Right Brain Team

This week, Victoria Hutter of the National Endowment for the Arts published a sweet interview with our very own Program Manager Marna Stalcup on the NEA blog (remember that we recently received a $25,000 NEA grant for our professional development program for teachers and teaching artists).

This interview turned out to be a really smart overview of who we are as a program and what our key values are—so if you’re in need of a Right Brain 101 session, I encourage you to take a look. Marna provides excellent information about our approach to arts integration (that is, creativity combined with other school subjects), and our emphasis on empowering teachers to implement the arts into their classrooms on a daily basis. But most of all, she captures the essence of why we exist, which is “to put the magic back into learning.”
